Collaboration with Kyle Barnes and Tobi Ayeni.

During my third year of university, I structured my independent research in terms of a collaboration with indigenous communities in Utah, to address the air quality problems they’ve identified. My goal was to assist in providing the evidence they need to advocate for their physical and spiritual health in a political and scientific context.

November 2019, I  travelled to Montezuma Creek, Utah to measure methane emissions and air quality in the Aneth oil field. In collaboration with artist Fazal Sheikh and indigenous community members, we worked to communicate this research in new modes through the intersection of art
