Connecting Schools Program

Through the Emzingo Global Impact Fellowship, I was selected to intern at Planeta Oceano, an NGO in Peru looking to inspire climate action through local youth engagement. I designed a youth leadership program, called Connecting Schools, that guided environmental project creation and taught design thinking skills to students from coastal environments. Students connected with schools from other countries to share their environmental projects and learn from each other’s work. Participating countries including Peru, South Africa, the United States, France, and Argentina. 

I really enjoyed working in an international context and learning how to communicate with young people across cultures.
